Catalyst Sizes

Replacement catalysts have given sizes (diameter and depth). Normally in a case of replacement, the same sizes need to be re-installed.
For new applications the size of a catalyst needs to be determined. With the help of a computer programme AIR-SONIC calculates the catalyst volume, the pollutant conversion, pressure drop and the space velocity.

This way we can consider customer rquirements of special sizes and pressure drop.

Since we roll up the metal catalysts ourselves on a specially developped machine, we are able to produce any diameter between 100mm and 1500 mm.

Depth of catalysts are available in sizes of 75, 90, 120 und 150 mm.

Normally for diesel and gas engines, the number of cells/square inch is 200 (cpsi). For special applications we also deliver 400 cpsi.

Depending on the application the catalysts are loaded with various precious metals:
Platinum (Pt) for gas engines to reduce CO
Platinum (Pt) for diesel engines to reduce CO and HC
Platinum / Palladium (Pt/Pd) for gas engines to reduce CO NMHC
Platinum / Rhodium (Pt/Rh) for Lamda=1 engines to reduce CO, NMHC and NOx

The quantity of precious metals (loading) depends on the required pollutant conversion in the catalyst. The loading can be 5 to 300 g/cuft (0,18 bis 10,6 g/Liter).

With our own rolling machine and the possibility to produce any diameter, several different depths, various number of cells and loadings we are very flexible and in particular fast. For higher quantities we can fulfill further customer wishes which might be different from our already large standard range.
